Holymoorside Village Hall Improvements

The parish council have undertaken to upgrade the village hall kitchen in the near future. If you are a regular  or even occasional user of the hall your views on how to improve the kitchen facilities to better serve the users of the hall would be much appreciated. You can put forward your suggestions by contacting the parish clerk either by email or telephone - details can be found on the contact page of this site.

New Shopping Bus Service Launched

New bus services funded by Derbyshire County Council have taken to the road – and they’re free for Gold Card holders.
Derbyshire Connect ‘shopping’ bus services replace the Dial-a-Bus services previously run on behalf of the council by the county’s six community transport groups. For more information see the village hall notice board or connect here

Grit  Bins
Unfortunately, the parish council has received a large number of complaints from residents who have witnessed the removal of grit from the bins for personal use on driveways.  All residents are therefore reminded that the grit provided in the bins is for use on the public highway and pavements only.
The parish council is reliant on their supplies via Derbyshire County Council  and this is only allowed if they have sufficient stock.  Therefore, as we have a cold snap forecast,  no grit is being released and the council is aware that some bins are getting low and some may well be empty.
Those residents who need grit for their own properties are reminded that it can be purchased for a reasonable fee from all DIY merchants, petrol forecourts and most supermarkets.  In the meantime your parish council will get the bins refilled as soon as supplies are obtained
